LEWES UNLEASHED DOG PARK RULES
Lewes Unleashed is a members-only dog park. All members and dogs are required to act as good citizens of the Lewes Unleashed community.
Use of the dog park is at your own risk. Members are solely responsible for their own and their dogs’ actions and assume all liability for damages suffered by any person or dog injured by the member’s dogs while at the park. Members agree to release and hold harmless both Lewes Unleashed and the City of Lewes for any injury to any dog or person while using this park.
Registered members only; key fob may not be loaned or given to anyone. All users must be registered members to use the dog park. The key fob is for the personal use of the member and immediate family and may not be loaned, shared, or given to anyone else. Giving or loaning the key fob to a third party is grounds for forfeiture of membership.
Members certify that their altered dog(s) have current rabies vaccinations. All members must upload their dogs’ current rabies immunization, proof of spay/neuter status, and vet record(s) to their Lewes Unleashed member portal. Expiration of rabies vaccines during the membership term results in the suspension of gate access until the member uploads proof or current vaccinations.
Children under 9 years of age may not enter. For the protection of children and dogs, children under the age of 9 are not allowed inside the dog park. Children 9 and older must be closely supervised.
No outside food or drinks. No food or drink (other than water) should be brought into the park.
Dog treats are expressly forbidden. For health and safety reasons no treats are allowed anywhere in the park except in the agility area during formal training.
Dogs that are aggressive, unneutered/unspayed, and/or younger than 6 months are not permitted to enter. Any dog exhibiting aggression toward other dogs or members must be leashed and immediately removed from the park.
Dogs must be licensed and healthy. All dogs should be healthy, free of contagious diseases, and be regularly examined and treated for parasites. Please do not bring your dog to the park if he/she is unwell or has a parasitic infection.
Dogs less than 6 months of age, unneutered male dogs, unspayed female dogs, aggressive, unruly, fearful and under-socialized dogs are not permitted. Dogs showing aggression toward people or other dogs must be leashed and immediately removed from the park. Dogs who exhibit a history of aggressive behavior will not be permitted to enter.
Two (2) dogs per adult member. All dogs must be under control of an adult, with a limit of 2 dogs per adult in the park at one time.
Pick up and disposal of dog waste is required. Members are responsible for having a disposal bag in their possession and for picking up after their dogs. Poop bags dispensers and waste collection bins are provided all throughout the park. Please use them to clean up after your dog!
Leashes are required outside the park gate. The City of Lewes requires all dogs to be leashed outside our fence. Please leash your dog walking into / out of the park as required by law and unleash your dog once inside the bullpen entry area. Dogs must be unleashed in the bullpen before entering the fenced dog park and must remain unleashed while inside the fenced dog park. A member must keep the leash in their possession at all times while using the dog park.
No animals other than dogs may be brought into the dog park. No dogs may be tethered to the fence.
Smoking, vaping, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
Excessive barking will not be tolerated.
Only flying-disk and tennis-type ball toys are permitted. Please keep squeaky, scented, or latex balls and other toys at home. No whistles are allowed.
No firearms are allowed.
The park may not be used for any commercial purpose, private use or gain. This is including but is not limited to professional dog walkers, groomers, and trainers. No group events or activities of any kind may be conducted without the direct sponsorship and prior written approval of Lewes Unleashed.
- Violation of the rules or aggressive behavior by a member or member’s dog may be grounds for immediate suspension or revocation of membership.
- Our park consists of 4 separately-fenced areas: the large general dog area; the area (on your right as you enter) reserved for small, shy, and elderly dogs, an agility training area, and a space (on your left as you enter) reserved for use by Lewes Unleashed.
- The park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Access after-hours is not permitted.
- There is a $35 fee for replacement of the entrance key fob, issued when you join.

- Owners must watch and supervise dogs at all times and not leave them unattended.
- Dogs must be in view of and under voice command of the member at all times.
