Who owns the park?
The park was built and is managed by the non-profit advocacy group, Lewes Unleashed Association (LUA), under a long term sub-lease from the City of Lewes.
How big is the park?
The site encompasses 4.5+ acres. The grounds have been selectively cleared, retaining indigenous plantings to maintain a partially treed, park-like setting.
How is the park laid out?
The park is fully fenced including a general play area for all dogs, an area for small and elderly dogs, an area for agility training, as well as a special events area.
How is the park funded?
The launching of Lewes Unleashed Dog Park was funded largely by local individuals and corporate sponsors through their generous donations of time and money. As our membership has grown over nearly a decade, the dog park is now funded primarily by annual membership fees.
Who can use the park?
Lewes Unleashed has controlled access. Park users are required to register as members with contact information and an emergency contact, attest to their dog's neutered status, age, current rabies and other vaccinations, and pay an annual fee. See Membership item on the menu for details
